There is no record button when you use the Spotify library in djay Pro. I am wondering if anyone can help? I have a MacBook Pro and I have a WeGO Controller.”
Djay 2Djay transforms your Android device into a full–featured DJ system.
During a live set or recording, you often want to find and prepare the next song while the current one is still playing through the main audio output, a common task known as Pre-Cueing. This requires headphones and a USB audio interface to connect your headphones to. Djay Pro stores data in the following locations. To access these folders, activate the Finder, select 'Go To Folder.' From the 'Go To' menu, and copy & paste the respective path below. Note: To move djay Pro to another Mac, simply copy these folders to the same location on the new Mac.

This often baffles DJs when trying to record a mix they’re performing using music from Spotify in djay Pro (or other streaming services in other software, the other big one being Pulselocker in Serato DJ or the same service in Rekordbox DJ).

While DJ software nowadays is starting to incorporate streaming services, the issue is that the licences under which they are permitted to use music from streaming services forbid the recording of those performances.
It’s something that we can see not being a restriction at some point in the future when streaming services become the mainstream and owning music becomes an oddity, but for now, it’s there in the small print – which is why the buttons aren’t enabled. And while there are convoluted ways around it, it is currently illegal to do so.
